Commissioning, Refurbishment & Ongoing Maintenance Support
Once fabrication and installation are complete, the work isn't finished. Process lines and process equipment require systematic commissioning before they can be handed over to production — and they require ongoing maintenance to remain safe, hygienic and productive throughout their operating life.
GT Stainless provides commissioning support for newly installed and relocated process lines, refurbishment of existing equipment, and scheduled maintenance services for process lines, stainless steel equipment and pipework across Melbourne and Victoria.
Commissioning
GT Stainless commissions newly installed and relocated process lines — systematically verifying that equipment is correctly installed, connected, aligned and operational before it is handed to production teams.
What Commissioning Includes
- Physical inspection of all mechanical connections and fittings
- Pressure testing of pipework and pressure-containing components
- Leak detection and rectification
- Equipment alignment and levelling checks
- CIP and clean-down testing
- Initial operational run and functional testing
- Identification and rectification of any installation deficiencies
- Handover documentation
Refurbishment
Process equipment in food, beverage and industrial environments wears over time — welds deteriorate, surfaces pit, gaskets fail and fittings corrode. GT Stainless returns worn or damaged stainless steel equipment to working condition rather than requiring complete replacement.
Typical Refurbishment Scope
- Weld repairs to cracked or compromised stainless steel surfaces
- Re-passivation and surface finishing of corroded equipment
- Replacement of worn clamp fittings, gaskets and seals
- Reconditioning of stainless steel tanks and vessels
- Replacement of pitted or corroded pipework sections
- Modification of existing equipment for changed process requirements
- Surface polishing and finish restoration for hygienic compliance
Maintenance
GT Stainless provides scheduled and reactive maintenance support for process lines, stainless steel equipment and pipework. Maintenance work is planned around production windows — not imposed on them.
Planned Shutdown Maintenance
Coordinated maintenance packages delivered during planned shutdown windows — inspections, replacements and repairs completed on time to allow production to resume.
Reactive Maintenance
For unplanned equipment issues, GT Stainless provides responsive support to diagnose and address the problem with minimum production disruption.
Inspection and Condition Reports
Periodic inspection of process equipment and pipework to identify wear, corrosion or damage before it causes unplanned downtime.
Component Replacement
Replacement of worn valves, fittings, gaskets, pipework sections and instrumentation connections as part of a structured maintenance programme.
